1. What You Can Submit

You may submit:

1.1 Your Own Original Quotes

Quotes written by you.

1.2 Quotes Missing from the Platform

Quotes from known authors that are not currently listed on SortedQuotes.

1.3 Blog Articles / Essays

Original long-form content related to ideas, philosophy, insights, or reflections.

2. Submission Types & Requirements

2.1 Original Quotes (Your Own Work)

If you are submitting your own quotes:

• Must be completely original
• Must NOT be copied, paraphrased, or closely inspired by existing quotes

If a quote feels derivative, it will be rejected.

You retain full ownership of your work.

2.2 Missing Quotes (From Known Authors)

If you are submitting quotes from existing authors:

You must ensure:

• The quote is accurate and verified
• The author attribution is correct
• The quote is not already present on the platform

2.3 Blog Articles / Essays

You may submit blog posts for publication.

Requirements:

• Must be 100% original writing
• Must NOT include promotional content, affiliate links, or marketing intent

Must provide genuine value:

• Insight
• Perspective
• Thoughtful analysis

Low-effort or generic content will be rejected.

3. Core Quality Standards

(Applies to ALL submissions)

Every submission must meet ALL of the following:

3.1 Accuracy

Quotes must be correct. No fabricated or misremembered content.

3.2 Attribution

Author name must be correct. No guessing or assumptions.

3.3 Timeless Value

We prioritize:

• Depth
• Clarity
• Meaning

We reject:

• Generic motivational content
• Trend-based quotes
• Low-signal content

3.4 Clean Formatting

Proper grammar and punctuation. No symbols, noise, or formatting issues.

4. Bulk Submission Format (CSV / Excel)

For bulk uploads, use the following structure:

Required Columns:

• quote
• author

Additional Recommended Columns:

• category
• citation → Where the quote was originally published, spoken, or written
• source (optional)

Example Format:

quote | author | citation

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. | Oscar Wilde | Personal letters

File Requirements:

• UTF-8 encoding
• No empty rows
• No duplicate entries
• One quote per row

5. Content You MUST NOT Submit

Submissions will be rejected if they include:

• Copied or derivative quotes
• Misattributed quotes
• Unverified quotes
• AI-generated content without validation
• Promotional or marketing content
• Offensive, abusive, or unlawful material

6. Intellectual Property

By submitting content:

You confirm that:

• You own the content, OR
• You have the right to submit it

Ownership:

You retain ownership of your submissions.

License:

You grant SortedQuotes:

A non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and distribute your content.

7. Review & Approval

All submissions are manually reviewed.

Approval is not guaranteed.

We may:

• Edit formatting
• Improve structure
• Reject submissions without explanation

8. Editing & Removal

We reserve the right to:

• Update attribution
• Correct errors
• Remove content at any time

9. Attribution & Credit

Published content may include:

• Author name
• Contributor credit (optional)

10. How to Submit

Submissions can be made via:

• Upload form
• CSV / Excel upload

Submission workflows may evolve over time.

11. Copyright & Takedown

If you believe content violates your rights:

SortedQuotes is not designed for volume.

It is designed for:
